Metro Chamber of Commerce — Detailed Review Guide (first-time reviewer)

1. What you're about to do

You are going to log into a working demo copy of MemberVu that has been set up and "frozen" for a fictional client called Metro Chamber of Commerce. Your job is to click through five short checks, compare what you see on screen against a table of expected values in this guide, and mark each check as PASS or FAIL. You are not going to change any settings, create any records, or fix anything you find wrong. You are simply confirming that the demo looks and behaves the way it is supposed to.

By the end you will have a clear PASS/FAIL verdict for this tenant that tells the team whether it's safe to show to a real prospective client.

2. What is MemberVu, and what is Metro Chamber?

MemberVu is a web application that membership-based organizations use to run their day-to-day operations: keeping track of who their members are, collecting yearly or monthly dues, running events like mixers and seminars, and taking payments online. Think of it as an all-in-one back office for a club or association.

MemberVu is multi-tenant, which means one piece of software serves many different organizations, and each organization ("tenant") gets what looks like its own private, branded website. The organization you are reviewing today is Metro Chamber of Commerce, Inc. — a fictional chamber of commerce that represents local small and medium businesses in its area. Inside the product, this organization is simply labeled "Chamber."

The sales story for this tenant is simple: Metro Chamber offers three membership levels — Bronze, Silver, and Gold — like a value ladder. Businesses start at Bronze, and the Chamber can encourage them to upgrade to Silver or Gold for better perks (like reserved seating at events). The demo is built to make it easy to show a prospect "here's how renewals work" and "here's how you'd upsell a member to a higher tier."

A few more things to keep in mind:

• This is a point-in-time snapshot. Expiry dates you see are relative to a "freeze date" recorded in 00-snapshot.md, not to today's real-world date.
• If you are reviewing this more than about a month after the freeze date, the two members who were set up as "expiring soon" will now look like a third expired member — this is expected data aging, not a bug.
• The login rate limit allows roughly 30 attempts per 15 minutes, shared across everyone on your network. If you see a "too many attempts" or "429" message, stop and wait 15 minutes rather than retrying immediately.

5. Step 1 — Open the demo and sign in

1. Open your web browser and go to http://metrochamber.membervu.local:8090 (or, if you're reviewing the cloud version, metrochamber.demo.membervu.com).
2. You should land on a login page branded for Metro Chamber of Commerce — look for the Chamber's name or logo on the page so you know you're on the right tenant.
3. Enter the email admin@metrochamber.demo and the password Demo123!.
4. Click the login/sign-in button.
5. What you should see: an admin dashboard themed for the Chamber, with navigation options for things like Members, Events, and Billing.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 with treasurer@metrochamber.demo and then events@metrochamber.demo, each with the same password, to confirm all three staff logins work. Log out between each one using the logout option in the dashboard menu.

6. Step 2 — Check the membership tiers

1. While logged in as admin@metrochamber.demo, find the admin navigation menu (usually a sidebar or top menu).
2. Go to Admin → Membership Types (or a similarly named "Membership" or "Membership Types" section).
3. You should see a list of three membership tiers belonging to Metro Chamber.

Expected:

Bronze should be marked as the default or entry-level tier.

PASS if all three tiers appear with these exact amounts and an annual (yearly) billing period. FAIL if a tier is missing, an amount doesn't match, or the billing period says monthly or something other than yearly.

If something looks wrong here, take a screenshot of the Membership Types screen before moving to the next step.

7. Step 3 — Check the members list

1. From the admin navigation, go to Admin → Members.
2. You should see a list of member businesses belonging to Metro Chamber, each with a status badge such as Active, Expiring soon, or Expired.
3. Look specifically for at least one member whose status is "Expiring soon" — this is the renewal story the Chamber uses when demoing to prospects ("look how easy it is to spot who needs to renew").

Expected:

PASS if you can see a mix of statuses matching this pattern, with at least one clearly flagged as expiring soon and one as expired. FAIL if every member shows the same status, if the expiring-soon members are missing, or if the numbers are wildly different from this pattern.

8. Step 4 — Check the past event

1. From the admin navigation, go to Admin → Events.
2. Find and open the event named "Business Mixer Q4 2025".
3. Check its details: location, status, ticket price, and attendance.

Expected:

PASS if the event shows as Completed at Makati Shangri-La with a ₱1,000 ticket price and 5 people checked in. FAIL if the event is missing, shows the wrong status, wrong price, or a different check-in count.

9. Step 5 — Check the paid membership invoice

1. From the admin navigation, go to Admin → Billing → Invoices (the section may simply be called "Billing" or "Invoices").
2. Find the invoice titled "2025 Membership — Silver".
3. Open it and confirm its amount and status, then look for the payment record linked to it.

Expected:

PASS if the invoice shows ₱35,000, status Paid, and a matching ₱35,000 payment record with method "Simulated." FAIL if the amounts don't match, the status isn't Paid, or there is no linked payment at all.

10. Things that look wrong but are correct

• Some other tenants in this demo set (not Metro Chamber) use monthly pricing instead of annual — if you're reviewing multiple tenants, don't assume every tenant follows the Chamber's annual pattern.
• A "gift" line item you might encounter on other tenants can actually be a disguised dues charge rather than a literal gift — again, this doesn't apply to Metro Chamber directly, but keep an open mind about naming.
• A free (₱0) event on another tenant will show zero payment records — that's correct behavior for a free event, not a data gap. Metro Chamber's own event, the Business Mixer, is paid at ₱1,000, so this specific trap does not apply here, but it's worth knowing before you review other tenants.

11. Finishing — record your verdict

Once you've completed Steps 1 through 5, open the tracker at tester-files/04_TRACKERS/DEMO_REVIEW_TRACKER.md and record your result for the Metro Chamber of Commerce tenant.

• Mark GO if every step in this guide passed — the tenant is safe to demo to a prospective client.
• Mark NO-GO if any single step failed — the tenant needs attention before it can be shown, and your notes (including any screenshots) should describe exactly what you saw.

There is no partial credit — one FAIL means the overall tenant verdict is NO-GO.
