MedAlliance Society — Detailed Review Guide (first-time reviewer)
This guide walks you through confirming that the MedAlliance Society demo tenant is accurate and ready to show a prospect.
The canonical short checklist for this tenant is 01-medalliance.md. The snapshot/freeze date and other tenant facts live in 00-snapshot.md. The salesperson's talking points are in demo/scripts/medalliance-demo-script.md.
1. What you're about to do
You're going to log into a pre-built demo of a software product called MemberVu, click through a handful of screens, and compare what you see against a short list of expected numbers written out below. That's it. Nothing you do can break anything — you are only looking, not changing data. The reason this matters: a salesperson is going to show this exact demo to a real prospect, and if a number is wrong or a screen is broken, it could be embarrassing in front of a customer. Your job is to catch that before it happens, not to fix it. Think of yourself as a final check on a rehearsal, not a technician.
2. What is MemberVu, and what is MedAlliance?
MemberVu is a web application that membership-based organizations use to run their day-to-day operations: keeping track of who their members are, collecting yearly dues (membership fees), and organizing events. Each organization that uses MemberVu gets its own private, branded version of the site — so one organization's members, money, and events never mix with another's. Each of these private versions is called a tenant.
MedAlliance Society (full legal name: MedAlliance Medical Society, Inc.) is one such tenant, built as a demo to show what MemberVu looks like for a professional medical association — essentially, a club or society that licensed physicians join to maintain their professional standing, network, and attend continuing-education events. In this demo, a doctor's membership tier reflects where they are in their career: a Fellow is a fully board-certified senior member, an Associate is an early-career doctor, and a Resident is still in medical training. This is just a demo dataset — no real doctors or real money are involved.
3. Words you'll see (plain-language glossary)
| Term | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Member | A person (a doctor) who belongs to MedAlliance Society and appears in the system's member list |
| Membership tier | The category a member belongs to — Fellow, Associate, or Resident — which decides how much they pay each year |
| Dues | The yearly membership fee a member owes, based on their tier |
| Invoice | A bill generated in the system for something owed, such as a member's annual dues |
| Payment | A record showing that money was received against an invoice |
| "Simulated" payment | In this demo, no real money moves — payments are marked "Simulated" instead of a real credit card or bank transaction; this is expected and correct, not a bug |
| Allocation | How a payment is matched (allocated) to a specific invoice, so the system knows that invoice is paid |
| Event | A gathering MedAlliance organizes, such as a conference or symposium, that members can register and pay to attend |
| Check-in | The act of marking that a registered attendee actually showed up at an event |
| Admin | A staff user with permission to manage members, events, and billing — the role you'll mostly be using in this review |
| Member status: Active | The member's dues are current and their membership has not expired |
| Member status: Expiring soon | The member is still Active, but their expiry date is coming up soon (roughly a month away) |
| Member status: Expired | The member's dues period has ended and they are no longer current |
4. The rules of this review
00-snapshot.md). If you're reviewing more than about a month after that freeze date, the two "expiring soon" members will now show as "Expired" — that's expected aging, not a problem.5. Step 1 — Open the demo and sign in
- Open a web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge — any modern browser works).
- In the address bar, type the tenant URL:
http://medalliance.membervu.local:8090(if you're reviewing the cloud-hosted version instead, usemedalliance.demo.membervu.com). - Press Enter. You should land on a login screen branded for MedAlliance Society.
- Click into the email field and type:
admin@medalliance.demo - Click into the password field and type:
Demo123! - Click the Sign in button.
What you should see: after signing in, you should land on an admin dashboard branded with the MedAlliance Society name, showing an overview of members, events, and billing. This confirms the admin login works.
treasurer@medalliance.demo and events@medalliance.demo (same password, Demo123!), so you don't have to come back and risk hitting the limit again later.6. Step 2 — Check the membership tiers
How to get there: From the admin dashboard, navigate to Admin → Membership Types.
What this screen is: this is the list of membership categories MedAlliance offers, and how much each one costs per year. Every member in the system belongs to exactly one of these tiers.
Expected:
| Tier | Annual amount | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Fellow | ₱12,000 | Board-certified full member (default tier) |
| Associate | ₱7,000 | Early-career member |
| Resident | ₱3,000 | In-training member |
How to mark PASS/FAIL: if all three tiers appear with exactly these names and exactly these peso amounts, mark this check as PASS. If any tier is missing, misnamed, or shows a different amount, mark it as FAIL.
7. Step 3 — Check the members list
How to get there: From the admin dashboard, navigate to Admin → Members.
What this screen is: this is the full roster of doctors who belong to MedAlliance Society, along with each one's status. In plain words: most members are in good standing, a couple are close to needing renewal, and one has let their membership lapse.
Expected:
| Group | Count | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Fully active | 7 | Expire roughly 8 months from now — comfortably current |
| Expiring soon | 2 | Still Active, but expire roughly 1 month from now |
| Expired | 1 | Expired roughly 2 months ago |
| Total members | 10 | Sum of the above |
How to mark PASS/FAIL: if the list shows 10 members with this same spread (9 showing an "Active" status, split into 7 comfortable + 2 expiring soon, and 1 showing "Expired"), mark PASS. If the counts or statuses don't match, mark FAIL.
8. Step 4 — Check the past event
How to get there: From the admin dashboard, navigate to Admin → Events, then open the event named "Annual Clinical Symposium 2025."
What this screen is: this is a record of a conference MedAlliance already held. Because it already happened, it should be marked as completed, and it should show how many people who registered actually showed up (checked in).
Expected:
| Field | Expected value |
|---|---|
| Event name | Annual Clinical Symposium 2025 |
| Venue | Manila Marriott |
| Status | Completed |
| Ticket price | ₱2,500 |
| Attendees checked in | 4 |
| Timing | Held about 45 days before the demo's freeze date (in the past) |
How to mark PASS/FAIL: if the event shows a Completed status, a ₱2,500 ticket price, and 4 checked-in attendees, mark PASS. If any of those details are missing or different, mark FAIL.
9. Step 5 — Check the paid dues invoice
How to get there: From the admin dashboard, navigate to Admin → Billing → Invoices.
What this screen is: an invoice is a bill for something owed — in this case, a member's annual dues. When a member pays, a payment record is created and matched (allocated) against that invoice, which flips its status to Paid. You're confirming that link worked correctly for one specific invoice.
Expected:
| Field | Expected value |
|---|---|
| Invoice name | 2025 Annual Dues — Fellow |
| Amount | ₱12,000 |
| Status | Paid |
| Matching payment | ₱12,000, method shown as "Simulated" |
How to mark PASS/FAIL: if you find this invoice showing Paid status with a ₱12,000 amount, and a matching ₱12,000 payment attached to it, mark PASS. If the invoice is missing, the amount doesn't match, or the status isn't Paid, mark FAIL.
10. Things that look wrong but are correct
None of these traps belong to MedAlliance Society specifically, but you may run into them if you glance at other tenants during a broader review, so it's worth knowing about them.
11. Finishing — record your verdict
Once you've completed Steps 1 through 5, record your PASS/FAIL results in the shared tracker: tester-files/04_TRACKERS/DEMO_REVIEW_TRACKER.md.
GO means all 5 checks (membership tiers, members list, past event, paid invoice, and the login itself) came back PASS — this tenant is sales-ready and safe for a salesperson to demo live to a prospect.
NO-GO means one or more checks came back FAIL — write down exactly what you saw for each failed check (screen name, expected value, actual value) so the issue can be looked into before anyone demos this tenant.
